Overview : The arcana with no weight. Zero, nothing and the beginning of everything. The fool carries a light bag and is cheerfully clad. His step is alert, his destination not yet fixed. Foolish as a child : reason does not limit him yet. He believes that everything is possible. This card evokes freedom, spontaneity, freshness, carelessness, youth, and unbridled creativity.
What it suggests :
Travel light in life, not hindered by your past or your possessions. But accept to carry your luggage.
Look at the world with freshness. Listen to the child in you. Take into account your heart and your instinct when you choose your road. Make sure the limits are real and not others fears or interdicts interiorized.
Break free from convention but don’t follow whims.
Connect with your intuition. Exercice your creativity.
No pain, no gain. You need to take risks to advance.
Accept your limits. The fool is not equipped to climb Everest.
Put a pinch of foolishness in your life to make it more palatable. Foolishness, not madness.
Beware, don’t lose yourself, don’t run in circles. Don’t turn in a stray dog. Don’t avoid solving problems. Avoid perils or dead ends.
Inspiration : The light feathers of the Visconti card and the cheerful look of the Ryder-Waite’s fool. An Armani bag seen in a window of Saint Germain des prés. Sweets colors. And the untameable hair of one my great daughters.
The first I sketched. The one I sketched with the greatest ease and, in the end, the one which satisfied me the least. And I am unable to find why because it fits the bill.
