Mixed media painting – The very pretty girl of café Procope, pretty in pink

This painting results from a sum of failures.

I was working on a portrait of Yayoi Kusama. I tried to glue some closet paper found in a flea shop on a canvas to create the background. I blotched fully. I had a good excuse. Varnish glue was improper for that sort of paper. Then I decided to rescue the canvas to spare money under the ironic gaze of Pierre, 16, who advised me to renounce and buy another canvas. The rescue blotched the canvas.

I added some fluopink  pigment to the glue and put it on the blotched canvas.

After other failures and much toiling I finished the portrait of Yayoi. Then I undertook a new project, the portrait of a very pretty girl seen in café Procope.

It did not work. I decided to play with my fluo background to distract myself from being stuck in a dead end. And that’s the result!
